MY OTHER PASSIONS....
As you can see from these photos, I love being outside! Before changing careers to become a massage therapist, I worked for CA Department of Fish and Wildlife, the National Park Service, & various other agencies. My jobs consisted of hiking and backpacking trips to complete wildlife surveys. I worked with bears, bats, butterflies, deer, sage grouse, small mammals, spotted owls, amphibians, & fish over the course of 15 years. During those years, I got to be in so many beautiful forests, lakes, & rivers in the Sierras & Cascades, filling me with peace, calmness, & balance that only Mother Nature can provide. I still spend a lot of my spare time in nature & I draw from those peaceful experiences when I give massages.
Though I stopped wildlife work, I still get my nature-fix through rock climbing. I was introduced to rock climbing when I attended Humboldt State University in '98, and have been doing it ever since. It's a blessing to have the opportunity to be in such magical places while climbing. It makes me feel so alive & free, yet very focused & meditative all at the same time. I love the connection I feel with the rock & with nature when I climb. It fills my soul in a big way. I am so grateful for the places that climbing has taken me & for the community of amazing friends I have met through climbing in CA, the US, & around the world. In fact, I met my husband on a climbing trip in Kentucky and feel so blessed every day for sharing my life with him...and our dog Obi.
My intention is always to spread good energy through massage therapy. I believe that to give good energy during massages, it's important to be filled with internal peace & happiness. That is the reason I've enjoyed giving massages my whole life & why they have been so well received. I am grateful every day to have a job that allows me to help others feel better. Every year I enjoy taking continued education classes, learning new techniques to benefit my clients.
My clients often tell me that they don't want massages from anyone else since I spoil them with attention to problem areas, a healing touch, and the royal spa treatment...always giving the fullest amount of time and energy I can possibly give. Helping others is a huge blessing and I look forward to learning and growing with my current and future clients!
